NEWS

REMINDER: Next Sunday, Jan. 31, the Loose Plate will go to the Discretionary Fund.

Also next Sunday, Laura Mobry-Bathke will be here to speak about the Sheltering Arms Foundation. Laura is a board trustee of Sheltering Arms. Thank Laura for being with us and for the $700 Grant St. Martins received to assist us in participating in the Kids Against Hunger.

Kids Against Hunger: When a family that lives in a poor country cannot grow enough food or earn enough money to buy food, there is nowhere to turn for help. There are no food stamps or soup kitchens in poor countries. Plans are being made for extra shipments to Haiti. Donations are needed more than ever. Plan to attend St. Martin’s Kids Against Hunger fundraising events.

St. John Vianney welcomes you to the annual dinner/dance to be held on Saturday, January 30th. More information on the bulletin board.

No doubt you have heard the terrible news from Haiti of the earthquake yesterday. A report from them is on the bulletin board. The Diocese of Haiti is the largest diocese in the Episcopal Church. If you would like to make a donation for the relief efforts there, please go to the website for Episcopal Relief and Development www.er-d.org
